ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 7th US HIGHWAY 17 [from Governor St to the North and State Road 16 (Ferris) to the South] WILL BE CLOSED AT 5pm and will not open back up until approximately 8:15 pm
The map below shows the overall street closures in GCS. Once US 17 is closed, the thru traffic will be rerouted onto Clay Street.
For those that live or work EAST of US 17, the map below shows the ONLY way to get in and out. There is NO access south of this area. St Johns Ave between Governor St and Lamont is how you will be able to get IN AND OUT. There will be an officer placed at the three spots in Green to help direct traffic. Please be patient as traffic can back up during this time.
Law Enforcement and Safety Personnel have asked that we keep the following streets clear from street parking. This will allow traffic and law enforcement to travel through if there is an emergency
Please do not park on Magnolia Avenue, Clay Street & Palmer Street
The following intersections will be closed starting at 6am and will not open until Christmas On Walnut is ended which is expected to be after 10pm. Once US 17 is closed, there will be no exit onto US 17 for people East of US 17 unless you to to Lamont and St Johns Ave.
