Christmas Parade Rules for Participants

  1. Each entry will be placed in 1 of 3 categories
    • Float = Some sort of trailer that is decorated and pulled by something else.
    • Decorated Vehicle = A car, golf cart, cycle, or anything with wheels that is decorated and does not have a float attached. These groups will be limited to 10 for golf carts, motorcycles and small cars. 8 will be the limit for larger cars/trucks/SXS.
    • Marching/Dance/Mounted Unit = A group who wants to be judged on their group’s performance while walking or dancing.
  2. General times for day of parade
    • 3:15pm = Participants may arrive at the staging area
    • 5:00pm = All non essential people and autos must leave the staging area. All entries must be in place.
    • 6:00pm = Parade will begin
    • Time to be Determined (usually around 8:30-8:45)= Parade winners will be announced (Pool Pavilion)
  3. There are a limited number of spots to be in the parade. There is an application process to enter. We will give priority to floats and those that have participated in the past. Once your application is submitted, we will review and let you know if it has been accepted.
  4. Prior to sending in the application, please have a good idea of the length of your entry. This helps is planning for the staging area.
  5. This is a night time Christmas Parade. Please make sure to have as many lights on your entry as possible.
  6. Anyone who wants to enter the parade must sign up prior to November 11th
  7. Entry fee is $35 per entry. It is $60 for any political entry.
  8. There is a MANDATORY meeting for a representative of each entry. It will be on Monday Nov 27th at 6pm. Location is TBD but it will be in Green Cove.
  9. Trophies will be given out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of the categories listed in rule #1 above. In addition there will also be 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Best Overall and Best Scout/School Entry
  10. No entry can have someone dress as Santa or Mrs. Claus.
  11. Drivers must be at least 18 years old.
  12. All entries must be decorated and must be in theme (this year is Christmas Movie Magic)
  13. NO ITMES can be thrown or handed out into the crowd. This includes candy.
  14. All walkers / participants must be dressed in some sort of Christmas holiday gear.
  15. The parade is a RAIN OR SHINE event (ask anyone who participated in 2019)
  16. The parade route is 2 miles round trip. If you have anyone who has trouble walking that distance, you must have the ability to pick them up and drive while the rest of your group continues. This helps eliminate large gaps in the parade.
